Ever wondered how D2C brands with no competition can end up with no ROAS? Today I will share with you the insight on how to analyze and do better than your competitors. There are different factors where you can analyze on your competitors to name a few are mentioned below:


Exploit Competitor Weaknesses :

Whenever you are checking on the competitors weakness you need to understand and keep few things that are mentioned below:

  1. First identify your 5 competitors in your niche.

  2. Use tools like Similar web or SEM rush to understand their insight, highest performing blogs, keywords, etc.

3.Once you look at the insights check the competitors website and check on minute things like how is their product funnel. How is their shipping services, are you getting any automated message.

4.Check the pain points of the customers that you will find in the comment section on Google my business page or if there are on any market places.

5. Work on the pain points and give a solution looking at their pain points.

6. Check their social media handles on what content their are doing to keep the user engaged (Like are they posting awareness content, education content or some other strategy related to products)

7.The best way to understand the minutes of your competitors is to buy competitors products and understand every minute details at each level like tracking , messaging, fabrics used, customer support, offers.

8.Check competitors offers when you buy, when you put in cart and see if we can give better then them in terms of offers and service.


A Low Friction Signup form:

  1. Once you check competitors site looks points such as how easy is the language of the form. Can you make it more better.

2. What questions is the form asking. Anything like any more question can be added.

3. After collecting the information where are they navigating the traffic. Is it they are sharing messages, email offers or discounts.

4. After Signup is there anything extra a brand is doing. If yes check whether they are offering additional discounts after signup or form fill.

How to crack your competitor's Email and WhatsApp strategy?

  1. Identify top 5 competitors in your niche.

  2. Go to their website, and pick any product and add it to cart. Don't complete the purchase.

  3. Wait for 48hrs and see if you get any WhatsApp or email message or not.

4. If yes, check the copy, check the discount.


And viola! You now will be able to understand which competitor is giving what discount, how do they communicate and when they are sending the communications.

Is it in the morning or evening or what time?

Influencer Marketing:


1.See which all influencers they have onboarded. Check their comments to understand what type of comments?

2.Are the people asking about he product or features or price?

3. You will notice, all good products all comment called - PP which is - "price please"

4. Check the no. of shares. Then check views to shares ratio. If it's more than 4%, then the content and the influencer did well.

Check what discount code competition is giving to the creators.


Ads Checking for your competitor:

  1. Go to Facebook Ads Library.

  2. Put the competitors keywords in the search section and check the ads .

3. Check the caption, ad creative and headlines. Think question like how can we do better.

4. Specifically which type is of ads are working . Eg like is it a video ads or image ad.

5. For Google Ads search for your competitor keywords.

6. Also, check in Google Ads transparency where you will get more insights.

7. Check their ad copies and description.

8. Check what assets they are using, any other extension and all.

9. Check their landing page, Check where they are targeting audience.
